The village is located on a hill. It is connected to the ''Lod'' by a secondary road. In 1920, there was an elementary school with 175 students. The population in 1945 was 1510, with 268 houses. On July 9, 1948, a force from the Yiftach Brigade of the Israeli army advanced as part of "Operation Dany" and divided into two parts: one headed south and occupied the village of Enaba, then occupied the village of Jamzu near Ramallah. Shortly after, the attackers expelled the villagers, shooting at them as they fled, resulting in the death of ten people. Two months after the massacre (September 13), Israeli Prime Minister Ben Gurion renamed Jamzu from the 14 villages slated for destruction.
