Zionist Massacres - Nahalin Refugee Camp Massacre

Nahalin Refugee Camp Massacre | Our Palestine

The village of Nahalin is one of the villages in the occupied West Bank of Palestine, located 20 km from Bethlehem and 40 km from Hebron. In 1945, its population was 620 people. Notably, at the time of this massacre, Nahalin was not occupied by the Zionist enemy; instead, it was governed by the Jordanian army.

In the early hours of the morning, on March 28, 1954, approximately 300 Zionist soldiers from the Paratroopers Brigade penetrated the West Bank territories and advanced 3.5 km towards the Palestinian village of Nahalin. They besieged it from three directions, while a reinforced force, armed with various weapons, invaded the village. They opened fire on the residents, planted mines around houses and mosques, and demolished them. The defenders of the village from the Jordanian army confronted them. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of eight civilians, three Jordanian soldiers, and the injury of fifteen people, including five Jordanian soldiers, with the rest being civilians. However, another source from the village confirmed that the martyrs were fourteen, and the wounded reached nineteen. It is worth noting that the mastermind behind the attack and this massacre was the infamous Ariel Sharon. As usual, the Zionists justified the attack as a response to some fedayeen attacks launched from the village against their settlements. Following the incident, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan filed a complaint with the United Nations, but it was quickly withdrawn.

In conclusion, it is worth mentioning that the Zionist entity committed another massacre against the village of Nahalin on the early morning of April 13, 1989, resulting in the martyrdom of five young men and boys and the injury of around 100 others.
