Operation by the Eagles of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine on March 7, 1981
On March 7, 1981, the Eagles of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) carried out an operation in the occupied territories. Two gliders took off from Lebanon and landed in a Zionist camp in the Galilee. A successful battle ensued, killing dozens of Israeli soldiers. The operation continued until the ammunition was exhausted. One of the pilots was martyred, and his companion was captured.
A third glider landed near the village of Shefa-Amr, where the pilot engaged in a fierce battle and was captured.
The operation was in honor of the martyr Kamal Jumblatt.
