The population in 1945 was 90 citizens, and the number of houses in 1931 was 35. It is situated on a hill overlooking Lake Tiberias, and its inhabitants used to raise livestock and cultivate grains on an area of up to 4172 dunams.
The Zionists selected the village for destruction to spread terror among the city of Safed and the neighboring villages, as it was the first village in the Safed district to be targeted for destruction.
On April 12-13, two units from the "Golani Brigade" destroyed most of the houses and set fire to the remaining ones. Ten villagers were martyred, all of them women and children. Some of the village's inhabitants remained in their homes after the massacres, but Zionist gangs forced them to leave on April 23. On April 14, 1948, the "Irgun" and "Stern" gangs sent a force disguised in Arab clothing to the village of Nassir El-Deen south of Tiberias, opening fire on the residents. This attack resulted in the martyrdom of 50 people, considering that the village's population at the time was 90.
