Zionist Massacres - Al-Abasiya Massacre

Al-Abasiya Massacre | Our Palestine

Al-Abasiya is a Palestinian Arab village located 13 kilometers east of the city of Jaffa. In 1945, its population was 5650 people. Its area was 101 square kilometers, and the area of its lands was 20540 square meters.

On Saturday, December 13, 1947, the Israeli organization 'The Aragon' carried out an attack on the village of Al-Abasiya. The Israeli attackers were disguised in British soldier uniforms, as the British Mandate still controlled Palestine. They fired at Al-Abasiya, blew up several houses in the village, opened fire on residents sitting in front of the village cafe, placed a group of timed bombs, and planted explosives in several houses. Many British occupation soldiers arrived at the scene but did not intervene. Instead, they partially surrounded Al-Abasiya and allowed the killers to escape from the north. The number of Israeli attackers was twenty-four.

The number of victims of this massacre was 7 martyrs, and seven injured, some critically. Two of them later succumbed to their wounds. Among the victims was a five-year-old child and his twenty-year-old mother. Five were injured as a result of the explosion of the timed bombs in the days following the massacre.
