On the night of January 26, 1952, which coincided with the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ in the Eastern Christian denominations, an Israeli patrol detonated a house near the village of Beit Jala, two kilometers from the city of Bethlehem. This led to the martyrdom of the homeowner and his wife. At the same time, another patrol approached another house, located one kilometer north of Bethlehem, near the Orthodox Monastery of Mar Elias. This patrol opened fire on the house and threw hand grenades, resulting in the killing of the owner, his wife, and two of their children, while two other children were injured. On the same night, a third patrol entered the demilitarized zone in the Latrun sector, covering three kilometers until it was just five hundred meters away from the village of Imwas, showering it with intense gunfire.
