In the early hours of the second day of Eid al-Fitr (A muslim fiest/festival, which marks the end of the month of fasting, Ramadan), on December 6, 2002, the Israeli occupation forces committed a new massacre in the Al-Barej refugee camp south of Gaza City. The incident resulted in the martyrdom of ten Palestinian citizens, including two employees of the International UNRWA agency, and the injury of twenty others.
More than forty tanks and heavy military vehicles, covered by military helicopters, surrounded the Al-Bureij camp from all directions at 2:30 AM. The objective was clear: to kill and destroy as part of the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people.
