What is the story of the mentally unstable woman named Um Salem in the Palestinian series 'Al-Tughraibiyya'?
In the Palestinian series "Al-Tughraibiyya", there was a scene featuring a mentally unstable woman named "Um Salem".
The story behind this woman is as follows: In 1948, Zionist gangs raided the village of "Qaqun" in the Tulkarm district and massacred the stationed Iraqi battalion, which consisted of 37 soldiers. They then killed 23 of the village residents.
Survivors from the village recounted witnessing a fleeing woman carrying a pillow in her hands after the bombing. When she met her husband outside the village, he asked her if she had brought their child. She replied affirmatively, saying, "Don't you see him in my hands?" Her husband then realized that she had lost her mind, as she mistook the pillow for their child due to extreme panic and fear during the bombing.
