Shaja'iya Neighborhood Massacre

Israel carried out a new massacre in the Shaja'iya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, claiming the lives of 15 citizens and injuring 44, including 20 children and adolescents under the age of eighteen.

A special unit of Israeli forces infiltrated from military positions near the Nahal Oz crossing east of Gaza City on the morning of Wednesday, December 11, 2004, into the area located on the eastern line east of the Shaja'iya  neighborhood. They killed a member of the Palestinian National Security before reaching the home of Palestinian citizen Farouh Hasnine, which is 200 meters from the ceasefire line at the crossing, and surrounded it with the support of several tanks that penetrated the area.

Israeli forces killed three members of the Al-Qassam Brigades who were hiding in the house with the shells they fired at the house, one of them being the son of the homeowner.

The Israeli forces demolished the two-story house, housing three families.
