Brigade that carried it out

Alexandroni Brigade

The Alexandroni Brigade was one of the brigades of the Zionist Haganah organization. It operated mainly in the central coastal plain during the Nakba and the occupation of Palestine in 1948. The brigade participated in several military operations, most notably Operation Hametz, which targeted Palestinian villages east of Jaffa with the aim of isolating the city from its Palestinian hinterland. It later took part in Operation Dani in the Lydda and Ramla area. Dan Epstein commanded the Alexandroni Brigade during Operation Hametz, in which the Kiryati and Givati brigades also participated.

Among the most prominent Palestinian villages whose occupation or the displacement of their inhabitants was directly associated with the Alexandroni Brigade were:

Miska, Tulkarm District; Saqiya, Jaffa District; al-Khayriyya, Jaffa District; Kafr Ana, Jaffa District; Kafr Saba; al-Tantura, Haifa District; Bayt Dajan, Jaffa District; al-Safiriyya, Jaffa District; Majdal Yaba, Ramla District; and Qula, Ramla District.
