The Battle of Yamon, between Palestinian revolutionaries and British occupation

After the success of Sheikh Atiya Awad in raiding British army positions in Jenin and seizing all the weapons within.

In response, Britain mobilized a massive force consisting of 3,000 soldiers and 13 planes. Britain chose the time of Friday prayers to attack the revolutionaries, intending to surprise and eliminate them.

However, the surprise was met with complete readiness from the rebels who controlled the mountainous terrain from Kafr Dan to Yamon.

An uneven battle unfolded, involving 300 insurgents under the leadership of the two sheikhs, Awad and Farhan Al-Saadi.

The rebels managed to create a gap in the encirclement and withdrew from the location. In the battle, 39 Palestinians were martyred, including the battle's leader Atiya Awad. Meanwhile, 70 British soldiers were killed.
