Harel Brigade

The **Harel Brigade** was one of the Palmach brigades within the Zionist military system during the Nakba and the occupation of Palestine in 1948. It operated primarily in the Jerusalem area and along the roads leading to the city. The brigade participated in a number of military operations aimed at expanding control over the Jerusalem corridor and the surrounding Palestinian villages.

During **Operation Dani** in July 1948, the Harel Brigade was assigned to operate in the eastern sector of the offensive and to occupy a number of villages in the Jerusalem hills in order to expand the corridor leading to the city. Among the villages whose occupation was associated with the brigade was **Suba**, which it occupied on the night of **12–13 July 1948**, as well as other villages in the area, including **Khirbat al-Lawz** and **Sar'a**, although the specific units involved varied from one village to another.
